On September 21, 1939, radio station WJSV in Washington, D.C. transcribed an entire day of broadcasting. Fortunately the discs survived and are now available as MP3 files. Or, you could just hunt up this old radio from 1939. Kilroy knows where it is.

John L Hatcher's yarns from the Wah-to-Yah Trail provided grist to the mills of old beaver trappers who funded their retirement entertaining at train stops like North Platte, Nebraska. Sometimes Hatcher-derivations made it all the way south to Mudgap, New Mexico. Lewis Garrard scribed one found on the Internet.
